Unrar first

1. Install avast! 5.0.462 in trial mode from avast website or any source, and do not reboot!

2. Run avast, and at Settings-> Troubleshooting disable avast! self-defense module.

3. Exit avast! UI (Stop AvastUI.exe and AvastSvc.exe through Windows Task Manager).

4. Run the patch and follow the instructions.

5. The directory to select for patching ashBase.dll:
Default install path is -> C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5

6. After patching reboot the computer, and enable avast! self-defence module.

7. Run avast, and download a trial license.

8. Update ONLY the engine and virus definitions. Do NOT update the program.
To disable Update Program: Settings-> Updates-> PROGRAM: Select "Manual update".
