De jonge Gunther Strobbe groeit op in een marginale familie die leeft volgens het motto 'God
schiep de dag en wij nietsnutten slepen er ons doorheen'. Aan die routine van alcohol,
rokkenjagen en nietsdoen komt plots een eind als Gunther door een sociaal werkster van zijn
familie wordt gescheiden en in een Internaat wordt geplaatst. Vijftien jaar later dreigt
Gunther vader te worden van een ongewenst kind. Gaat hij hetzelfde lot als zijn vader
tegemoet? Of kan hij wel ontsnappen aan de helaasheid der dingen?
