Masters Of Reality was formed in 1981 in Syracuse, New York, by singer/guitarist Chris Goss and guitarist Tim Harrington. Drummer Vinnie Ludovico and bassist Googe rounded out the original line-up. This line-up created the first, self-titled album that was produced by Rick Rubin and released on Def American Records in 1988. The band's music has touched on many styles, ranging from hard rock to blues, from progressive rock to Beatlesque pop music. Frontman Chris Goss is also a notable producer (Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age) and has contributed to many other bands in the Palm Desert scene and beyond.
