Cain (Ving Rhames) zit opgesloten in een zwaar beveiligde inrichting, terwijl zijn enige zoon Ricky (Nipsie Hussle) buiten de poorten hetzelfde te wachten staat. De gevangenisbewaarder Dean (Robert Patrick) vormt een sterke band met Cain en helpt hem over zijn slechte levensstijl uit het verleden heen te komen. Ricky, die al van Cain vervreemd is sinds zijn jeugd, wordt later ook opgepakt en naar dezelfde gevangenis overgebracht. Cain probeert om de vader-zoon relatie te herstellen en hem te overtuigen om op het rechte pad te blijven. Ondertussen wordt de rivaal van Ricky, JD (Gillie Da Kid) opgesloten in hetzelfde cellenblok. In de cel leren zowel Cain, Ricky als JD dat ze meer overeenkomsten hebben dan ze ooit dachten en Cain heeft er alles voor over om de twee jongens dichter tot elkaar te brengen.

storyline:

Cain (Ving Rhames) is locked in a high security facility, while his only son Ricky (Nipsie Hussle) outside the gates the same ahead. The jailer Dean (Robert Patrick) is a strong relationship with Cain and helps him about his poor lifestyle from the past to come back. Ricky, who has been estranged from Cain since his youth, is later arrested and taken to the same prison. Cain tries to restore father-son relationship and convince him to stay on the straight path. Meanwhile, Ricky's rival, JD (Gillie Da Kid) locked in the same cell block. Learning both in the cell Cain, Ricky and JD that they have more in common than they ever thought and Cain do anything about the two boys closer together.
