PLOT:

George Malley (Travolta) observes a strange light in the sky on his 37th birthday outside the bar. The light knocks him to the ground. The following days he becomes very intelligent with amazing mental abilities and puts the intelligence to good use in his community. When the news of his newfound knowledge gets the attention of the town he becomes known as a freak and everyone wants to figure out why this happened to a car mechanic. The government also wants to get their hands on it to put it to other uses. George comes to realize that his wondrous experience has changed him and the lives of everyone around him forever.
