In een futuristische toekomst is Groot-Brittannië een totalitaire staat
geworden. Tegen deze achtergrond wordt de jonge vrouw Evey (Natalie Portman)
van de dood gered door een gemaskerde man, beter bekend als "V". V is
weergaloos en charismatisch, maar vooral meester in list en bedrog en zeer
bekwaam in de vechtkunst. Hij ontketent een revolutie als hij twee
belangrijke regeringsgebouwen opblaast en het door de regering gecontroleerde
radio- en TV-station overneemt. V spoort zijn burgervrienden aan in opstand
te komen tegen de tirannie en onderdrukking van het onmenselijke
schrikbewind. Als Evey de waarheid blootlegt over V's mysterieuze achtergrond
en hiermee ook de waarheid over zichzelf ontdekt, is zij zijn
onwaarschijnlijke bondgenoot in de strijd voor vrijheid en gerechtigheid in
een samenleving die geplaagd wordt door wreedheid en corruptie...

deception and very skilled in the martial arts. He unleashes a revolution

to revolt against the tyranny and oppression of the inhuman terror. As Evey
uncovers the truth about V's mysterious background and thus also discovers
the truth about herself, she is his unlikely ally in the struggle for freedom
and justice in a society plagued by cruelty and corruption ...
