1942, Nanking. In de nasleep van een aantal aanslagen op hooggeplaatste officials van de Chinese
marionettenregering ontbiedt het hoofd van de Japanse geheime dienst een aantal verdachten in
een landhuis voor verhoor. Een gespannen kat-en-muis-spelletje ontvouwt zich terwijl de gezochte
Chinese codekraker probeert een cruciale boodschap te versturen zonder daarbij zijn/haar identiteit
prijs te geven.

1942, Nanjing (Nanking). Following a series of assassination attempts on officials of the Japanese-
controlled puppet government, the Japanese spy chief gathers a group of suspects in a mansion
house for questioning. A tense game of "cat and mouse" ensues as the Chinese code-breaker
attempts to send out a crucial message while protecting his/her own identity.
