De 23-jarige Marina groeit op bij haar vader, een architect, in een archetypische industriestad aan zee. Ze vindt de menselijke soort maar vreemd en onaangenaam en houdt dan ook een zekere afstand. Ze observeert de mens door de liedjes van Suicide, de natuurdocumentaires over zoogdieren van sir David Attenborough en de seksuele voorlichting die ze krijgt van haar enige vriendin, Bella. Een vreemdeling arriveert in de stad en daagt haar uit tot een partijtje tafelvoetbal, op haar eigen tafel. Haar vader bereidt zich intussen op rituele wijze voor op zijn uittocht uit de twintigste eeuw, die hij ôovergewaardeerdö vindt. Gevangen tussen beide mannen en haar vriendin Bella onderzoekt Marina het wonderlijke mysterie van de menselijke fauna.

The 23-year-old Marina grows up with her ??father, an architect, an archetypal industrial town by the sea. She finds it strange and unpleasant human species and is therefore a certain distance. She observes the man by the songs of Suicide, nature documentaries on mammals of Sir David Attenborough and the sex education she receives from her only friend, Bella. A stranger arrives in town and challenges her to a football game on her own table. Her father meanwhile ritually prepares for his exodus from the twentieth century, which he called "overrated"section. Caught between two men and her friend Bella Marina investigates the strange mystery of the human fauna.
