Bebel, burrosa e tropicale nelle fattezze, vellutata nella voce, è uno dei “nostri” fenomeni da esportazione: ci sarà forse di meglio, ma Bebel ha quel giusto mix genetico, biografico e artistico per giocarsela bene, dentro e fuori casa. Con questo All in One, Bebel inaugura la sua collaborazione con la Verve ovvero con l’etichetta che pubblicò, tanto per dire, i fondamentali dischi di papà João con Stan Getz.
Bebel mette insieme in modo efficace anima brasiliana e modernità, partendo sempre da una certa “classicità” come dimostrano i brani in scaletta che pescano anche da Bob Marley e da uno Steve Wonder “minore” ma assolutamente piacevole (già presente nel classico Sergio Mendes and The New Brasil' 77).
Per chi, com’è giusto, guarda anche alle collaborazioni che fanno la particolarità di ogni lavoro, dietro All in one ci sono diversi nomi di spicco dal produttore Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen) agli arrangiamenti dell’immancabile Carlinhos Brown, ad un duetto con Daniel Jobim sulle note di Bim Bom di papà João.

Isabel Gilberto de Oliveira, meglio nota come Bebel Gilberto (New York, 12 maggio 1966), è una cantante statunitense di origini brasiliane. È la figlia di João Gilberto e Miúcha. Suo zio è il cantante e compositore Chico Buarque. Bebel mosse i primi passi esibendosi a Rio de Janeiro.
