Hoewel de populaire sf-serie Galaxy Quest al jaren geleden is gestopt, kunnen de echte sf-fans de acteurs nog altijd in hun originele kostuums komen bewonderen op beurzen.
Op het moment dat dit concept bij de acteurs de neus en oren uitkomt, worden ze ontvoerd door ruimtewezens voor de rol van hun leven. Echte Aliens, de Therminans, hebben namelijk de hulp nodig van hun helden in de strijd tegen zeer griezelige ruimtewezens. De acteurs die uiteraard niets snappen van technologie en ruimtevaart staan nu ineens voor de klus een ruimteschip te leiden en een volk te redden.
Bovendien moeten ze zich gedragen alsof het allemaal routine is....

Galaxy Quest geeft een hele vette knipoog naar alles wat met Star Trek te maken heeft, en doet dat erg goed.
Naar mij mening is deze film erg grappig en goed uitgevoerd.
Het is zeker geen film die alleen voor SF fans bedoeld is.
Vrijwel iedereen zal met deze film uit de voeten kunnen!!

Galaxy Quest offers a very big wink at everything to do with Star Trek, and does so very well.
To my opinion this film is very funny and well executed.
It is certainly not a movie just for SF fans intended.
Almost everyone will take this film out of the feet can!
