Lang, heel lang geleden, aan het einde van de ijstijd waren er eens drie broers.
Toen de oudste gedood werd tijdens de jacht op een beer, nam de jongste, Kenai,
wraak op dit dier. Voor straf veranderden de Goden hem zelf in een beer. Kenai
leert de dierenwereld nu op een heel andere manier kennen en raakt bevriend met
het jonge grizzly beertje Koda, die hem leert wat de echte betekenis van
broederschap is.

Long, long ago, at the end of the Ice Age there were once three brothers. When the
eldest was slain during a bear hunt, took the youngest, Kenai, revenge on this
animal. As punishment the gods changed himself into a bear. Kenai learns the
animal is now in a very different way and befriends the young grizzly bear Koda,
who learns the true meaning of brotherhood.
