I think the alpha blondy you are talking about called "rasta poue"is in fact a compilation of his very first produced in ivory coast and originally titled"jah glory" released in 1983plus a single produced by dennis bovell in 1984 called "rasta poue"which also worth picking.i remember when the"jah glory"came out back in 1983 i was in junior high school getting ready for my junior high school final examination.it went on the airwaves and became an instant hit all over west africa,for it was a totally new sound,the closest we could get to jamaican reggae at that time here in africa,but peformed by ivorian tv house band called "the natty rebels".yeah the simple evocation of these titles "brigadier sabari" "bintou were were" takes on trip down memory lane; yeah it is really pure as opposed to everything he has released since"jerusalem"to me.
