1000mods is a psychedelic/stoner rock band from
Chiliomodi, Greece. They were formed in the summer
of 2006 and since then, they have played over 100
live shows, including openings for Brant Bjork
Colour Haze, Karma to Burn, My Sleeping Karma, Radio
Moscow and many others. Their commitment to vintage
equipment, thick and heavy analog sound and their
remarkably passionate on stage performance is what
sets them apart

1000Mods are back with their new album Vultures. A
hard rocking 38-minute affair that packs quite a
punch. Stoner Rock and Fuzz Rock combine for one
hard-rocking adventure that will speak volumes to
the Stoner Rock crowd. Vultures is a lot different
to their 2011 album Super Van Vacation. Yeah there
is lots of fuzz to worship to but Vultures sees the
band moving into dangerous territory as Vultures has
a darker feel compared to the previous album s
sunnier and easy-going vibe

It shows the band aren t afraid to experiment with
their sound and it provides the listener with a
thrilling experience that you don t quite expect
from these highly talented rockers

First track Claw is a track that pushes all the
right buttons in getting you into the mood of
rocking out. It has a slight garage noisy rock feel
to it but you can still expect to hear lots of fuzz
based stoner rock riffs that Truckfighters have
slightly left behind with their music recently

1000Mods unleash the fury on the next track Big
Beautiful that sees the band adding more noises to
the Stoner Rock cause but with plenty off menacing
riffs to prove that 1000Mods are a band with their
own vision to stand out from the crowd. A fast-paced
affair feels like the song is twice as long as its
4-minute running time and that is a very good thing
indeed. It shows that 1000Mods have genuinely
changed their music for the better

3rd track She starts with a bluesy rock vibe
with lead vocalist Dani singing his heart out
and sharing his pain to the world. However, it does
have its fair share of crunching riffs to rock out
to. It is the album s longest track and they have
plenty of time to pack as many different moods as
possible. When things get heavy then things do
seriously get heavy with the FUZZ amped upto 11

This sets up the scene for the rest of the album as
Vultures turns into an adrenaline packed journey of
riffs and fuzz that will leave you on the edge of
your seat. If you are not moved by the blistering
moods of Horses Green, Low, Reverb of the New World
and the sublime title track Vultures then there
seriously is no hope for you. As 1000Mods prove
they are masters of their own destiny

The album conjures up startling visions that take
you to the hot desert sun of the legendary Desert
Rock scene. All you stoner rock/fuzz maniacs may
have a new favourite band to follow as Vultures is
more like a mission statement for you to join this
rebel band of riffsters. Vultures is one of the must
have Stoner Rock releases of the summer

If you were impressed by Super Van Vacation then be
prepared to be blown away as you ain t heard nothing
yet. Vultures is an awesome ride from start to
