My viewpoint on this magnum opus[/SIZE] : This is one of the story in Bengali Literature which all of us must have read.From that point of view,we had high expectations.But,after making brilliant Meghe Dhaka Tara,Kamaleshwar Mukherjee couldn't impress us this time.He used too much narration,may be with a view to shortening the length,though he changed few portions and didnt follow the original story but killing the Roadesian Monster (Bunip) is the major minus point of this movie.
Dev worked really hard but his 200% couldn't portray Shankar well enough.In many scenes Gérard Rudolf (Diego Alvareg) overshadowed Dev's (Shankar) performance specially when the duo shared screenspace.But Samik's cinematography was brilliant.
Overall, I didn't get any sort of thrilling experience from the movie and bit dissapointed.
So,if you really want to experience Mountains of the Moon,best way is to either read the book or you can listen the audio book by Radio Mirchi.
If you haven't read the story yet it is better to watch the movie first.
