Riding around in the sunshine the other day, I stopped off at a dealer’s I’d not visited for years. They had some wonderful bikes, but absolutely no riding gear. That’s fair enough; I’m sure they’ve calculated the best use of their limited floor space. What struck me was how unusual that is these days – the country is dotted with specialist motorcycle clothing shops, and bike dealers with decent clothing departments. But even the best of them are unlikely to find room for all the good kit in this issue’s summer boots test, where we were delighted to find how good the overall standard is these days.
