We've conducted a vast research and checked 3 different
DVD releases of this movie. UK DVD had no subs AT ALL,
US one had the French parts transcribed as is (without
traslation) and the third one had all those parts
noted as captions only (e.g.: "speaks French"). Those
parts are also not translated or dubbed on the Blu-Ray.
The story is told and narrated from an American writer's
point of view, who only speaks basic French, so we assume
it was the director's choice to present it through his eyes.
We have included the closed captions from the US DVD for those
who may find them useful.
