Ruth leidt een vrij typisch leven voor een tiener: ze woont bij haar vader, werkt als caissière bij de lokale supermarkt, experimenteert met drugs en alcohol, feest veel en slaapt regelmatig. Het enige probleem is dat Ruth 35 jaar is. Daarnaast heeft ze steeds minder gemeen met haar vriendinnen die allemaal al in een stadium van ouderschap of zwangerschap zijn en openlijk kritisch zijn over Ruth's levensstijl. Wanneer Ruth's zus, Hillary, aankondigt dat ze zwanger is, flapt ze er spontaan uit dat ze ook zwanger is. Hoewel ze in het begin nog haar leugen wil opbiechten komt ze er al snel achter dat het ook veel voordelen heeft. Niet in het minst het feit dat ze opnieuw wordt omarmd door haar vriendinnen.

Storyline

Preggoland tells the story of Ruth, a 35-year-old woman who pretends to be pregnant to fit in with her friends. Although Ruth initially tries to come clean, the perks of pregnancy are too seductive to ignore and she soon finds herself living a lie. Starring Sonja Bennett (who also wrote the script), James Caan and Danny Trejo and directed by Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky), Preggoland is a comedy that looks at the lengths we will go just to feel special.
