Il giovane surfista californiano Zach è stato costretto a rinunciare al suo sogno di entrare in una scuola d'arte per dedicarsi alla sua famiglia, soprattutto al suo nipotino Cody, figlio della sorella Jeanne. Quando Shaun, fratello maggiore del suo miglior amico Gabe, ritorna a casa, fra lui e Zach nasce subito un'amicizia intima. Shaun spinge Zach a prendere il controllo della propria vita per meglio imporsi sia rispetto alla famiglia sia nel campo dell'arte. Zach viene anche colpito positivamente dal forte legame che Shaun ha saputo instaurare con Cody. Tuttavia, col passare del tempo e a causa della sua relazione omosessuale con Shaun, Zach entra in conflitto con la sua famiglia, in parte anche con l'amico Gabe e persino con la sua stessa identità. Inoltre, avendo saputo della relazione, Jeanne decide di proteggere Cody dalla coppia omosessuale e obbliga suo fratello Zach a scegliere fra il nipotino e l'amante. Zach allora rompe temporaneamente con Shaun, ma sarà anche grazie alla complicità ed ai consigli della sua ex-ragazza Tori che Zach riprenderà con Shaun. Così, quando Jeanne decide di affidare al fratello il piccolo Cody per un certo periodo, per poter andare a vivere col suo nuovo ragazzo che non sopporta i bambini né Cody, Zach, spalleggiato dal compagno, saprà imporsi alla sorella ribaltando la situazione ed obbligando quest'ultima a scegliere se continuare ad occuparsi del figlio oppure affidarlo a lui in coppia con Shaun.

The young Californian surfer Zach was forced to give up his dream to enter an art school to devote himself to his family, especially his nephew Cody, son of her sister Jeanne. When Shaun, older brother of his best friend, Gabe returns home, between him and Zach immediately it arises an intimate friendship. Shaun pushes Zach to take control of their lives to better establish itself both with respect to the family both in the field of art. Zach is also impressed by the strong bond that Shaun has been able to establish with Cody. However, over time and because of his homosexual relationship with Shaun, Zach comes into conflict with his family, in part also with his friend Gabe and even with his own identity. Moreover, having heard the report, Jeanne decides to protect Cody from homosexual couple and forces her brother Zach to choose between her nephew and her lover. Zach then breaks temporarily with Shaun, but it will be thanks to the complicity and the advice of his ex-girlfriend Tori Zach resume with Shaun. So when Jeanne decides to entrust to the little brother Cody for a while, to go to live with her new guy who can not bear children or Cody, Zach, backed by Comrade, will impose his sister reversing the situation and forcing quest 'last to choose whether to continue to care for his child or entrust it to him paired with Shaun.
