Pop idols andy lau and alan tam star in this taut intriguing action drama set in the glamorous mafia casinos of macao as the two men must face numerous gambling scams and power struggles with the yakuza to become asias king of gamblers. Special features: on/off english & chinese subtitles and more.
Writer/director Wong Jing's famed gambling hijinks get a healthy dose of heroic bloodshed in Casino Raiders, a star-packed gambling film co-directed by Jimmy Heung. Sam (Alan Tam) and Crab (Andy Lau) are a pair of skilled gamblers who encounter harrowing hardships when Sam chooses to leave the life. Initially the best of partners, Sam meets a beautiful heiress (Idy Chan) whose father offers to give him a job if he stops swindling others. But Crab is either unable or unwilling to leave the life, and engages the vengeful attention of some Japanese Yakuza.
The gangsters strike back at Crab by kidnapping Sam's girl, leading to an explosive climax that will test the brotherhood of the two gambling heroes! Co-starring Rosamund Kwan, Casino Raiders mixes Hong Kong action and heroic bloodshed melodrama with ultra-cool gambling action as only writer-director Wong Jing is able! Wong Jing would also go on to direct the wildly popular God of Gamblers series starring Chow Yun Fat, which also mixed action, comedy, and cool gambling heroes into an undeniably entertaining package!
