Based on real events that took place in Australia at the turn of the century. Jimmie Blacksmith is a man of half-Aboriginal ancestry who is pushed to the breaking point by the racist oppression perpetrated by the British and by his inability to acclimate to Western culture. Apparently at the time the most expensive movie ever produced in Australia the extreme violence in the story became a significant talking point.
