Synopsis:
Ved (Ranbir Kappor) is a young man who grew up listening to stories and who by temperament is attracted to theatre and the arts. But due to pressure from his family, he studies engineering and takes up a job related to his field of study. One day, to get away from it all, he takes leave and goes to Corsica, where per chance, he meets Tara (Deepika Padukone). The two decide to keep their real world identity a secret and just let their hair down and have fun. They part, intending to never meet again.

But Tara realises on return, that she is in love with Ved. She becomes a successful businesswoman and one day, years later, the two meet again. But the Ved she now sees is very different from the carefree Don she has known.

How she and Ved bring their lives back to even keel and Ved finds his true self, is the story of Tamasha..
Comments:
The first thing that has to be said of the movie is that it has an unusual basic theme - that of a person with a split personality trying to find out his real self. There isn't much of incisiveness in the tale, but one does not usually see heroes with bipolar disorders on the Hindi Screen!

This movie leaves you with a heartwarming feeling once you have had the patience to sit through it totally. The first half lays out the theme in a most meandering way, never mind the exquisite locales of Corsica and a heroine who looks fabulous. It is only after the first hour or so that the story assumes some structure.

All said and done, there are three things going for the movie. First the cinematography and then the Heroine and the Hero in that order. To that we could add the innovation of using higher grain for the stories picturised. Music was quite pedestrian, costumes, at least in the first half concentrated on highlighting the anatomy of Deepika Padukone to the maximum permissible by Indian Standards.

Overall an average movie, but for an unusual theme.

Uploader's Notes:
The only reason this rip is 8GB is that the DTS-MA audio file is itself 4.5 GB. By itself, the video would be equivalent to a 8GB x264 rip. We have tried to preserve the grain in the original BD because that was an integral part of the way the Director wanted to present the movie. as a result some parts of the rip appear to be sharper than the others. We have also reduced, considerably, the yellow (teal) tint of the Blu-Ray, thus bringing out the natural colours more vividly. Take a look at the U-tube releases and you will find that this tint was entirely added by the manufacturer.
Please note that this rip (and all HEVC rips) will not play on any stand-alone device. You can only watch this on a computer. Be sure that you have the latest versions of VLC (2.1.5 or higher) or Media Player Classic (Ver 1.7.9) or SMPlayer (14.9.0). Earlier versions may not work
