PowerISO è un'utility che lavora con i file immagine dei CD/DVD. È capace di aprirli, modificarli, crearli da zero ed eventualmente montarli su un lettore virtuale

PowerISO è un completo programma di gestione delle immagini di un disco ottico, ovvero dei file che contengono l'intero contenuto di un CD o DVD. Esistono vari formati di questo tipo e PowerISO è in grado di leggere quasi tutti, compresi i file .dmg usati su Mac. Quando si tratta di creare un'immagine da zero, il programma può invece salvare solo nei formati ISO, BIN e DAA.

Oltre alle funzioni base di lettura e scrittura, PowerISO può essere usato per modificare immagini già esistenti, estrarne parte dei contenuti, proteggerle con password e altro ancora. E visto che le immagini solitamente occupano molto spazio, PowerISO può anche essere utilizzato per comprimerle o suddividerle in file più piccoli.

PowerISO è utile quando viene il momento di usare le immagini. Include una semplice utility di masterizzazione e soprattutto è in grado di creare lettori virtuali, su cui montare le immagini senza il bisogno di copiarle su un CD o DVD fisico. Una funzione comoda e veloce, grazie a cui risparmiare tempo e denaro.
