First, California knocked Drake out of the top spot on the Billboard 200. Then Blink-182 told us its comeback album would be re-released in expanded form, so much so that it would be “like a whole other album.” Now, thanks to Mark Hoppus’ Twitter account, the California deluxe edition has a release date.

Rock Sound points out that the Blink-182 bassist nonchalantly broke the news to an inquisitive Twitter user; per Hoppus, the new project is due May 19.

Speaking with Billboard in December, Blink-182 revealed some details on California 2.0. Some of the songs were written during the album’s original sessions; others were composed after California had been released. Hoppus described the new batch as “a lot of high-energy songs, punk rock, some more ballad-y songs, a little more electronic experimentation.”

“We got a problem,” Travis Barker apparently told producer/co-writer John Feldmann -- “the deluxe album might even be better than California.” A track list and other details have not yet been issued, though the band has certainly been doing its part as de facto publicists.
