Synopsis:
Some eight years ago, a small child, Angela was kidnapped for ransom and murdered. The Police investigated, but could not solve the case. The Inspector who investigated, martin (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) was so affected by this failure, that he left the job and became a priest. Only one man, Johnny Biswas (Amitabh Bachhan), Angela's grandfather would not give up.

Then 8 years down the line, another child is kidnapped. This time a young boy called Ronnie. The modus operadi is chillingly similar to the kidnapping of Angela. Inspector Sarita Sarkar (Vidya Balan) starts investigating. She is assisted by Johnny Biswas and Father Martin. Together, this unlikely trio start to unravel the mystery piece by piece, clue by clue. There are a number of red herrings that cross their way until the actual kidnapper is revealed..
Comments:
A remake of a Korean film, Te3n (which stands for the trio of investigators) is a film that builds up slowly. For the first half, as the tale buids up, the pace is slow, until you start wondering if the Director will ever come to the point. The pace starts to pick up in the second half, but this is not an action film. By the time the plot draws to a conclusion, you do get the feeling that the movie has lasted a bit longer than it should.

Nevertheless, there is some awesome acting by the lead trio. Amitabh Bachhan is superb as the stiff limbed grieving but tenacious grandfather and he ably supported by Nawazuddin and Vidya Balan. Surprisingly, the villain of the story (And no I won't reveal who it is) has a minor role.

Music is good in parts. The Director has a grip on his subject and you get some wonderful views of Kolkata, including some of its old buildings. Overall a film to watch..

Uploader's Notes:

A reasonably good DVD which needed some careful color adjustment to get rid of a yellow tinge that permeated the video, this rip carefully enhances detail and brings out the actual colors - as the Director intended, going by the trailers. The 10-bit encoding in x265 means that the quality of this video is as good if not better than a rip twice its size. As an added advantage, we have provided the full 6 Channel sound, albeit in AAC format.
