The Emoji Movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it's deleted forever.

Nascosta tra le app troviamo Messaggiopoli, una vivace città dove vivono tutte le nostre emoji preferite in attesa di essere scelte da Alex, proprietario del telefono. In questo mondo ogni emoji ha una sola espressione facciale tranne Gene, un’esuberante emoji che, nato senza filtri, riesce a fare più espressioni. Deciso a diventare “normale” come tutte le altre emoji, Gene chiede aiuto al suo migliore amico Ghimmi 5 e alla famosa hacker Rebel. Tutti insieme si imbarcano in un’epica “app-ventura” all’interno del telefono, ognuno in modo simpatico e scatenato, per trovare il codice che riuscirà ad aiutare Gene nel suo scopo. Quando un grande pericolo minaccia il telefono, il destino di tutte le emoji dipenderà da questi tre improbabili amici, che dovranno salvare il loro mondo prima di venire definitivamente cancellati.
