Anticipation towards the release date of DANIEL VERNUNFT's



fifth album has been steadily mounting. Deservedly so, then



"GECKO" is a further master-piece by one of Germany's most



acclaimed and accomplished trance producers. As the dedicated



audience has come to expect, each title is rich in individuality



and creative themes. Non-monotonous arrangements, including a



wealth of eccentric and sublte grooves, are the essence of



SHIVA CHANDRA's formula for pure morning trance. Building upon



this, DANIEL VERNUNFT's project repeatedly redefines itself,



lending each of SHIVA CHANDRA's albums a unusually unique sound



character. Opening track "ACHT ACHTEL" elaborates the underlying



theme of this album, picking up the pace with rising melodies



and percussive flow. Continuing on a groove oriented tip "B.S.B."



(bit style bytes) pushes drum and rhythm concepts subtley to



extremity, disecting loops high and low with surgeonic precision.



"VIERENKRACH" is the most recent production on this album,



pushing the frontiers this track draws its momentum from



psychedlic elements carefully laid out on a atmospheric



background and stomping beats. Title track "GECKO" represents an



emotional highlight amongst the album tracks, luscious morning



trance merging vox themes, vocoded pads and infatuating



progressive synths. Entailing track"TOM CAT" develops streaming



flow-motion underlined by technoid sounds and trancey FX samples.



Just as compulsive are the crow screams and animal noises in



"KARASU", continuing the high vibration with trance-house melodies



and powerful bass lines. This name was taken from the crows living



in tokyo. Original grooves are to be heard in "BALI FROGS", an



exstatic sample twister demonstrating the artist's innovative musical



talent in a fascinating way. "N.Y. PAPATACCI" is a frisky escapade



into the jazzy realms of a virtual ensemble, saxes encoded by



cryptic digital patterns resurface as singing droids. Perfecting a



personal technique of integrating real life samples into the music,



Daniel Vernunft has become a true digital master at creating dynamic



psy-harmonic grooves. The production quality and scope of sounds &



samples on this album are again of the highest standard. SHIVA CHANDRA



has delighted audiences around the world with a genre defying
