1980's Ella's interpretation of the Tom Jobim songbook. Her voice is some dark and warm here, and this fits very well with the compositions.
Ella sings both in english and portuguese, and the songs go straight to your soul.
The queen of the jazz vocalists sings a wonderful bossanova work.
Ella is accompanied here by a lot of noticeable musicians: Joe Pass at the electric guitar and Oscar Castro-Neves at acoustic guitar, Alex Acuna and Paulinho da Costa at the percussions, Clark Terry at the trumpet, Zoot Sims at tehtenor saxophone and Toots Thielemans at the harmonica, and others.
Joe Pass and Toots Thielemans take some outstanding solos.
