A couple of encoding experiments here:

First is today's show in 64k stereo mp3 pro (99MB's). I'm not planning on using it but wanted some responses to it. It's unfortunate it never caught on, but the mp3 pro concept was great. It's backwards compatible with MP3 players, but only at 22KHz 64k stereo. There's a codec for Winamp (and one for Linux) but therein lies the problem as it has weak codec support. With said codec, you are getting 44.1KHz 128k mp3 quality playback (mp3pro is 128k mp3 quality at 64k) out of a 64k sized file.

Here's the Winamp plugin. It's old but works with newer versions of Winamp. Try it without the codec first (you'll see 22KHz sampling) and then extract/install it and try it at full quality.
