The true story of Arthur Conan Doyle and the Birmingham solicitor George Edalji, the latter of whom was accused of, and imprisoned for, mutilating horses in the early 1900s. This case and Conan Doyle's involvement in it lead to the creation of Britain's Court of Appeal.

Made into a play, it has surprisingly not yet (as far as I am aware) been filmed.
