Documentary: Between 1941 and 1945, the small fortress town of Theresienstadt in Czechoslovakia became a transit point to the death camps in the east for thousands of European Jews. Theresienstadt was described by the Nazis as a comfortable and peaceful \\\"Reich home for the aged,\\\" but its true conditions were far different. From 1943, following international concern, Theresienstadt was turned into a \\\"show camp;\\\" a large scale \\\"beautification\\\" program gave the place a pleasant and respectable facade, which the S.S. put to its intended purpose in a propaganda film. Their deception succeeded in hiding the terrible truth until the arrival of the Allied armies.
