This is the story of an unmarried couple Walter (Tom Hanks) and Anna (Shelley Long) who unwittingly decide to purchase the house of their dreams. The couple hurriedly purchase the house and move in. However, they soon discover that their dream house is a nightmare of problems. Having invested most of their savings in the house, Walter and Anna have no choice except to hire contractors with dubious reputations to repair the problems.
