Opa fue una banda uruguaya de los años 70. Fundada en los Estados Unidos por Ringo Thielman, Hugo y Osvaldo Fattoruso que fusionaba Jazz, Candombe y Rock.

Historia:

Hugo y Osvaldo Fattoruso eran integrantes de Los Shakers, al separarse esta banda, Ringo Thielmann (integrante de una banda anterior) los llama desde Estados Unidos para formar una nueva banda. Tocan durante tres años en el formato de trío y contactan con Airto Moreira, con quien realizan una gira y graban en 1973 el disco Fingers. El nombre del disco se vio inspirado por el tema Dedos de Rubén Rada, que fuera grabado con anterioridad por su banda Totem, dicho tema estaba incluido en el disco. Posteriormente esta banda se separa, volviendo a actuar el trío original de Opa.

History:

Hugo and Osvaldo Fattoruso were members of the Shakers, to separate this band, Ringo Thielmann (former band member) calls from the U.S. to form a new band. They play for three years in the trio format and contact with Airto Moreira, who are touring in 1973 and recorded the album Fingers. The disc name was inspired by the theme Fingers Ruben Rada, which was previously recorded by his band Totem, this subject was included on the disc. Later this band split, returning to the original trio act Opa.
