"Lisa O’Neill’s first album displays a wide range of style and mood from the haunting “I’m Gonna Get Me to the Road” to the quirky “Pocket Full of Piggies”. ?There is a wonderfully whimsical twist through her strong lyrics. “Pocket full of Piggies” is a mish-mash of childrens’ songs; while, even more heartfelt ones carry a clever cuteness such as titles “I’m Sorry You’re a Man”. Ms O’Neill’s influences are smattered all over the album: the intricate harp pieces and her capricious bard like lyrics conjure up a dirty Johanna Newsome, and a Yoko Ono voice peaks out in the intro song “I Painted My Nails So Pretty”. The most obvious influence is Bob Dylan, and the ode to him “Bobby D”. His harmonica and vocal style is a constant throughout the album. Although these influences are easily recognized, Lisa has blended them warmly to make them her own. Lisa O’Neill “Has an Album” is clever and fun, perfect for the collection of an eclectic artsy girl: cute, modern folk music.".
