In 1968, French film maker Pierre Schoendoerffer won a Best Documentary Features Oscar for the "Anderson Platoon".
This Documentary is based on the original version, but accompanied with Stuarts Witman`s soulful narration follows
a group of American GI`s commanded by the first African American West Point graduate, Lieutenant Joseph Anderson,
witnessing reconnaissance and skirmishes helicopter warfare, jungle patrols, all with freshness and vitality
of a newscast from that era.
