This sports documentary from 1977 by French cinematographer Francois Reichenbach examines the life and career the Brazilian-born Edson Arantes do Nacimento, known worldwide as "Pele," who was one of the most renowned star players of the game of football.
The documentary includes footage of Pele in his public appearances outside the sports arena, bits of a Brazilian docudrama/bio about him, and extensive footage of his amazing feats on the field. Pele is considered by many to have been the best soccer player ever to have run onto the field. Such was his popularity in Brazil that, after retirement he became a candidate for the Presidency of the country. Brazil's three World Cup victories are believed to have been largely due to Pele's achievements.
