A Savoy bebop compilation memorializing the great but short lived trumpeter Fats

Navarro.



The 12 tracks are grouped in fours with extra time between each group.



Charlie Rouse plays tenor on the first 4 tracks, Dexter Gordon on tracks 5-8 and

Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis on tracks 9-12. Fats plays trumpet on all tracks (this is

a memorial album after all)




Dexter's ultimate sound was still a work in progress here...he uses quite a bit more

vibrato and has a Ben Websterish quality at times.
