Pinokkio is nieuwsgierig naar de hem onbekende wereld en gaat op onderzoek uit. Hij haalt een hoop kattekwaad uit waardoor hij zichzelf en Geppetto in moeilijkheden brengt. Jopie de Krekel probeert hem op het goede pad te houden door hem met raad en daad bij te staan, terwijl poppenmaker Lorenzini de naieve Pinokkio verleidt tot kwade dingen. Pinokkio\'s grootste wens is om een echte jongen te worden, maar dat kan alleen als hij zijn hart opent voor menselijke emoties.
