Synopsis:
Building a blizzard at night to cover his tracks, seven prisoners, trapped in Stalin\'s reign of terror, escape from a Soviet gulag in Siberia in 1940. They are now free men, although almost certainly end up dead ... for the very long trek that awaits them to reach safe defies reasonable likelihood of a happy resolution and terrain to be crossed is relentless.

With little equipment, no food, and without any certainty of their position or the direction to be followed, a journey that will force them to face great hardship and dramatic situations. Driven by their most basic animal instincts-survival and fear, but rather according to the most evolved human traits-compassion and confidence, the group will undergo experiences that transform, deep and terrible, anguished and ecstatic.

Sinopsis:
Aprovechando una ventisca nocturna para cubrir sus huellas, siete prisioneros, atrapados en el reinado de terror de Stalin, escapan de un gulag soviético en Siberia en 1940. Ahora son hombres libres aunque, casi con certeza, acaben muertos... pues la larguísima caminata que les aguarda hasta llegar a lugar seguro desafía toda probabilidad razonable de una resolución feliz y el terreno que habrán de atravesar es implacable.

Con escaso equipo, sin comida, y sin certeza alguna de su posición ni de la dirección que deberían seguir, emprenden un viaje que los obligará a afrontar grandes penalidades y situaciones dramáticas. Empujados por sus instintos animales más básicos —supervivencia y miedo— pero dependiendo a la vez de rasgos humanos más evolucionados —compasión y confianza— el grupo sufrirá experiencias que los transformarán, profundas y atroces, angustiosas y eufóricas.
