In Los Angeles, fez-wearing Chandler Jarrell (Eddie Murphy), finder of lost children, is pestered by exotically beautiful Kee Nang (Charlotte Lewis) into searching for the Golden Child, a magical Buddhist boy kidnapped from Tibet who is prophesied to save the world. When a connection seemingly links the missing Golden Child to a murdered girl Jarrell had been looking for, he reluctantly takes on Kee Nang's case only to find himself thrust into an unnatural and supernatural world of sorcery and mysticism.
