Synopsis:
New Iberia, Louisiana. Dave Robicheaux detective tracks down a serial murderer whose weakness for young girls. While returning home after being at the scene of another crime, Dave knows the glamorous Hollywood star Elrod Sykes. Sykes is in town shooting his new film, which is co-produced by one of the local leaders of organized crime, Baby Feet Balboni. Sykes is himself who tells Dave he has seen a body lying in a swamp, the decomposed corpse of a black man in chains.

The discovery brings up past memories of Dave. And you get the feeling that the two cases are related. But as Dave approaches the murderer, the murderer is also close to Dave and his family ...

Sinopsis:
Nueva Iberia, Luisiana. El detective Dave Robicheaux sigue la pista de un asesino en serie cuya debilidad son las chicas jóvenes. Mientras vuelve a casa después de estar en la escena de un nuevo crimen, Dave conoce al glamuroso actor de Hollywood Elrod Sykes. Sykes se encuentra en la ciudad rodando su nueva película, que está coproducida por uno de los líderes locales del crimen organizado, Baby Feet Balboni. Es el propio Sykes quien le cuenta a Dave que ha visto un cuerpo tirado en un pantano, el cadáver descompuesto y encadenado de un hombre negro.

El descubrimiento saca a relucir recuerdos del pasado de Dave. Y tiene la sensación que los dos casos están relacionados. Pero a medida que Dave se acerca al asesino, el asesino también se acerca a Dave y a su familia…
