Giacinto Figlia aka George Wallington (1924-1993) was a highly regarded "bop"

pianist. This is the second of his 10 albums listed on Wikipedia.


Mingus on the first 4 tracks. His bass sound on track 1: LOVE BEAT, is very

unusual. At first I thought it might be an electric bass because there's

a sustained quality to it. Somehow I can't quite picture Mingus playing an

electric bass.
