This movie's original release was in 1982, but the Extended Version DVD was released in 2005. This was mastered from the director's personal film copy, and suffers from consistent image quality degradation. However, this is the only source of the 99 minute version. The other release was pared to 84 minutes on the basis that the remaining footage might make the main characters too dark for a family film. I hope you enjoy another fine Martin Rosen film based on another fine Richard Adams novel.
