In the opening scene set in London, England, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) stands
by his brother Owen's (Luke Evans) bedside as he lays in a coma, badly scarred
and crippled after being ejected from the plane (in the last Fast and Furious
film). Shaw promises to his brother that he will settle his score. He leaves
the room and out into the rest of the hospital, with bodies everywhere. The
building continues to burn and crumble around him.
