Twelve years after discovering her mother's suicide, Clare Shannon, 17, is bullied in high school, ashamed by her maniacal father, Jonathan, and ignored by her longtime passion. All this changes when his father comes home with an old music box whose inscription promises to grant his owner seven wishes. While Clare is initially skeptical of this magical box, she can not help but be seduced by her dark powers, and is thrilled as her life improves radically with every desire.
