Escaped convicts Mitch, Cable, and Kolos accidentally kill the the daughter of a Mexican sheepherder while heading for Tucson to reclaim stolen money. They escape the sheepherders by forcing John Cannon to change into the prison clothing of the inarticulate Kolos. Now John is condemned to death.
