For L: Change the World, the subtitles are not hardcoded, and are played with an .SRT file. Media Player Classic can do this, but to get it to load automatically, you need to rename the .SRT file match the name of the movie. So rename "L Change the World[Eng][Subs].srt" to "L Change the World[2008]DvDrip[JAP]-FXG.srt"

The three Death Note movies! Movies 1&2 have the SARS subs, where there's no grammatical/spelling errors, and the Shinigami speak in a different script. This version is much harder to get, and a lot better, so I recommend this torrent very much.
