Charlotte (Lotte) Reiniger (June 2, 1899 - June 19, 1981) was a German (and later a British) silhouette animator and film director.

She is considered to be the mother of silhouette animation, and is often mentioned among the founders of the animation itself. Besides, her feature "The Adventures of prince Ahmed" is the oldest surviving animated feature in the world. She is the great influence on all later animation since 1920s till now.
