Worldwide Totalitarian Control is my first listen from the band C/A/T, and after seeing the cover, which contains a picture of George W. Bush, I knew the EP was politically-driven. Obvious links can be deduced from the cover' subject matter and the EP'?s title (which also makes an acronym for WTC or World Trade Center). The subject of 9/11 seems to be as poignant today as it was three years ago. In fact, Worldwide Totalitarian Control took just as long to make, as this EP seems to be a labor of love, if not also an emotional project for creator B. Arp. This EP contains four tracks that mark a progression during and after the events of 9/11. From taking samples of audio from the raw handheld video shot by people on the ground at the World Trade Center during the attack in the first beat- looped track, "Problem," to an all-out vocal mish-mashing of the words of President Bush in "Reaction (Official)," this album takes the topic of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and displays them in a noise environment. The effect is stunningly good beats and loops with a seemingly purposeful dose of discomfort. I found the four track EP to be an opus to the attacks as they progressed through the noise soundscapes. Worldwide Totalitarian Control is masterfully done musically and the theming of the EP is sure to turn some heads. I found this EP to be equally as eye-opening as it was ear-bashing, which creates a poignant noise release.
