The Animals - A compilation of material from the original Mickey Most produced Animals, recorded in 1965, except for “House Of The Rising Sun” and “Baby Let Me Take You Home” Recorded 1964, all infected with that raw, swinging and soulful R&B flame (with the occasional Rock&Roll detour) that made them one of the best , and probably the most successful “Black” British band of the period; they may not have been exceptional songwriters, but sure knew how to take a song and make it their own; covers of Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Bo Diddley or Chuck Berry material and a couple of Burdon tunes , such as the triple feel driven 12 bar Blues “For Miss Caulker” make this a great sampler of these guys sound;
