Plot: Brandon Lang (Matthew McConaughey) was a football star quarterback since
grade school but in a pro game suffers a detrimental setback breaking his knee
which ends his football playing career. He works as a sports handicapper in
Las Vegas very successfully predicting the outcome of games; so much so that
Walter Abrams (Al Pacino) must have Brandon working for him in his Manhattan
sports advising business. Here Brandon changes his name and becomes in the world of sports gambling numero uno to the world’s biggest players. But his luck streak cannot continue when he gets involved with several women, one of them Walter’s wife (Rene Russo) and a Mafioso gambler who wants his money back.
